Hi Per,
your blog has been listed as an answer to my question on http://askubuntu.com/questions/89325/can-i-run-u1-on-an-ubuntu-server
I was very happy someone has a solution and I followed your instructions (using a 10.04 lucid server). Unfortunately, it seems that a module is missing. Any idea, how to obtain that?

I wrote a follow up post with instructions regarding later Ubuntu versions (in particular 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot): http://per.liedman.net/2011/12/28/using-ubuntu-one-from-a-headless-oneiric-ocelot/

This post also documents how to get a new oauth token for your headless server.

Per's instructions worked fine for me on Ubuntu 10.04 server and 11.04 desktop. Note however the string that contains the token and token secret in the password was formatted differently. I had a string like 'consumer_secret=aaaaa&token=bbbbb&consumer_key=ccccc&name=ddddd&token_secret=eeeee' where I used the values 'bbbbb' and 'eeeee'

That's great to hear!

I certainly won't promise I'll implement those things, but it's great suggestions, and I'll keep them in mind when/if I get around to do some more development.

(And in case you or anyone else is interested, I wouldn't mind opening up the source for others.)

Big thumbs up! Although I have bought the FR24 Pro app, I use yours more often because of the simplicity, I have very quickly everything I need without all the bells and whistles. What would make it a killer app for me - possibility to filter (at least by distance and altitude) together with audible notification, when there is a new plane in the list. For example when I'm contrailspotting with a telescope, I filter just planes above FL240. When I'm near the airport, then I filter just planes below 5000 feet and nearer than 3 km. Then I can use free time to drink without missing interesting pieces of machinery! But anyway thanks for the app even as it is!
